Recap: 9th Annual Kings County Fiber Festival

Saturday was the first publicly-held, in-person fiber-related event since March 2020 as a result of the pandemic shutdown, courtesy of Covid-19…and it was MUCH NEEDED.  Thank you to Maxcine, Kim, Casey and all parties involved in pulling this together; we needed this!!!

I was honored to once again be a part of the Annual Make Hats for the Homeless Drive to collect hats for local donations, now in its third year.  Thank you to everyone who donated, stopped by to talk, or smiled as they walked by.  One of the things I enjoy about being among my yarnie peeps are the gamut of conversations…this time,  it included sharks and squids! 🙂

If you missed the event and opportunity to donate hats, be sure to get on the mailing list or check the website for all the details…and start getting ready for next year!

Aside from serving the community by manning the donations table, this is one of my favorite events because I know I’ll get to see my once-a-year friends; of course, we’re friends all year long, but I only see them at this event, so that makes it something extra-special to look forward to!

There were new vendors as well as familiar ones, and there is such a variety that there’s always someone and something new to see every year.

I didn’t take any pictures…but you might see me in a few, so stay tuned!

As always; until next time…

Yvonne
